Streamlined Cataract Surgery with iCare: What to Expect

Step 1

Referral & Diagnosis

Visit your family doctor or optometrist for an eye exam. If a cataract is diagnosed, have the referral sent to iCare Surgical Centre.

Step 2

Consultation

Meet with a cataract specialist at iCare to review your referral. The doctor will assess the severity of your cataract and discuss suitable intraocular lens (IOL) options tailored to your vision needs.

Step 3

Pre-Operative Assessment

Detailed measurements of your eyes are taken to determine the most appropriate lens implant for you. You'll also receive instructions to prepare for surgery.

Step 4

Surgery Day

Your cataract surgery will be performed at a private surgical centre. The procedure typically takes 15 minutes, and patients return home the same day.

Step 5

Post-Operative Follow-Up

Post-op care includes a same-day checkup, followed by assessments at 1 week, 1 month, and 6 months to ensure proper healing and long-term success.

At iCare Surgical Centre, your private cataract surgery is guided by precision and expertise. Using advanced diagnostic tools like laser biometry and corneal topography, we ensure accurate measurements to select the ideal intraocular lens for your unique vision. Performed by experienced surgeons in a state-of-the-art private facility, the procedure often allows for same-day surgery for both eyes, ensuring a smooth and efficient recovery.

After surgery, our team provides comprehensive care instructions, including prescribed eye drops and protective eyewear to support a smooth recovery.

Better Vision Begins with the Right Lens

Cataract surgery is more than restoring vision – it’s an opportunity to enhance it. Once the clouded natural lens is removed, it’s replaced with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL). While standard lenses restore basic vision, advanced IOLs can improve vision at multiple distances, often reducing or eliminating the need for glasses.

Our team works closely with patients to explore lens options tailored to their lifestyle and visual goals.
