Chair of the Clinical Practice Guideline Committee for the Canadian Ophthalmological Society
After receiving his Medical Degree at the University of Toronto in 1984, Dr. Delpero completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Ottawa and practiced ophthalmology at the National Defence Medical Centre. Following his retirement from the Canadian Armed Forces in 1996 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and as Head of the Department of Ophthalmology, he transitioned to private practice as a comprehensive ophthalmologist. With a distinguished background in eye care, he has also held leadership roles with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, serving first as Chair of the Examination Board for Ophthalmology and later as Specialty Chair. Today, he is an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa’s department of ophthalmology, meanwhile remaining as an active staff at TOH and co-lead of the Riverside Eye Care Centre.
Dr. Delpero maintains special interest in cataract surgery, adult strabismus and aviation ophthalmology.
