Board certified by Royal College of Physicians, Surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Al-Kaabi serves as Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa Eye Institute.

  • Biography

Dr. Al-kaabi completed his ophthalmology residency at McGill University, where he received the prestigious “Resident Leadership Award.” Following this, Dr. Al-Kaabi pursued a fellowship in Cornea, Anterior Segment, and Refractive Surgery at the University of Ottawa, where he was honored with the “Fellowship Research Award.”

Dr. Al-Kaabi specializes in advanced ocular procedures, including  cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange surgery, and refractive corneal surgery (LASIK and PRK).

  • Research Contributions
Dr. Al-Kaabi has authored numerous publications in renowned peer-reviewed journals, including International Ophthalmology, Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology (CJO), and Frontiers in Physiology. He is also a frequent contributor to local and international conferences, where he presents his research at meetings organized by the Canadian Ophthalmological Society (COS), the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS).
